Yes this is a brand new forum. We're just going through final testing and bug fixing before integrating it fully across theAA.com and promoting it more widely.

In particular we will be linking the forum closely with the campaigning, motoring advice and travel areas of our site.

I just tried to post a message at the "Other discussions" forum. There aren't any threads there and there ISN'T a "POST A MESSAGE" button. Not a useful design IMO.

Not much of a forum when there's no subject dealing with green issues. And whilst on that subject, even though I've had car insurance thru the AA for about 6 months they keep on sending their usual mailshot promoting car insurance.....I've had THREE of these to date!!

And not much of an automobile association either. After about 10 years membership, and many years of insuring my 2 cars with AA , I thought I might enjoy a reduction, or loyalty bonus in my breakdown service. New members seem to enjoy £35, AND £20 in boots vouchers. Existing member £48.
Although in many years I had not had need of their services, in the last year I had several occassions where I was in need of them. My renewal notice arrived.........I need do NOTHING............the payment would be automatically taken from my bank........ £110 POUNDS . I invited the AA to seek the services of a taxidermist. I still have one car insured with AA, tho this is unlikely to be renewed.

P.S. as I have car ins with AA. they have just offered me BREAKDOWN FOR £35.25

A JOKE , OR WHAT?

It's early days for the forum, they always take a while to get going. But I absolutly agree about the A.A. breakdown subscription, I have been a member for more years than I care to remember, I have the "full monty" package and have only called them out twice in all that time. My daughter is included in my membership,so my subscription is £120 somthing a year. It cheeses me off to see all those "new member offers when I have had to pay so much over the years. Come on, A.A. what about a loyalty bonus or a "no claims" discount!.

l had heard on the radio the AA price will match match, so l phoned and told them the RAC had quoted me 25% less for same product (Relay), they agreed to price match the RAC offer price ,but checking my credit card statement online 4 days later l was shocked to find they had charged me full price, after agreeing with me a discounted price over the phone, a very crafty tactic as by the time most peoples credit card statement arrives you are out of time for the 14 days cooling off period, l gave them what for,, mis selling etc , and told them to listen to the telephone recording of my order, the difference £30 was returned to my card in an instant, this is a very crafty move by the AA so be alert and check your statements online, not wait for posted statement ,once the the 14 day cooling period is up you are locked in with no refunds given. is in AA T & C small print.
ps l have had 1 call out in 6 years a jump start was all that was needed, took 5 minutes.

It might interest you all to know that having paid your extortionate membership fee for thev year it is NOT possible to get a refund! I recently got a Motability car which has RAC cover and asked to cancel my AA membership and get a refund. I was told that this is not possible but that I could transfer the cover to another person. I had paid £171 in May so am losing out on a lot of cash.
