I think the AA are a complete joke. I have been a member for nearly 7 years now without cause to employ their services, yet last weekend the inevitable happened and I was required to call upon them.
I broke down at the side of a very busy motorway, at night, just me and my young son in the car. We were advised to leave the car immediatlely and await the AA man who I was assured would be with me as soon as possoble as I was in the highest possible priority category. I was told to keep my phone on and they would be with me within the hour. After 54 minutes they phoned to saw I would have to wait wnother 45 minutes before someone could be with me. When the guy actually arrived ( 1 hour and 45 minutes after my breakdown) he claimed that he had only been notified of my predicament 30 mins earlier. That standard of service is not good enough and i would advise anyone to think long and hard before commiting thenmselves to the AA. |

Following this complaint:
“We pride ourselves on the service we offer, so were sorry to hear of your experience. Thank you for allowing us to contact you to put things right, but please do not hesitate to call us on 0845 607 6727 (select Option 1) should you need to speak to us again.” |

Patrols are only notified of their jobs when completing the previous job. You may well have been in this patrol's plan but he would not know that until putting the completion code into his onboard unit.
Despite the best efforts to plan work and put jobs into patrols plans, there are many reasons why a patrol's previous job can take longer than expected. Patrols can minimise the impact by ensuring that their estimated time of completion is updated. The vast majority of jobs are attended within the times quoted to members but there will unfortunately always be exceptions. |
