Hi,

I just bought a second hand Golf GTi with 18'' Monza II's. There is currently alot of road noise coming from the current tyres (runway Enduro's on the front and some old continental's on the rear). So I am thinking of changing them.

With the price of tyres as they are and the weather conditions we get in Scotland I am trying to think sensibly and wondering about fitting Vredesteins Summer tyres on the front and Winter tyres on the rear (there doesn't seem to an "All Season" trye in an 18''???). When winter comes round I would switch the tyres around.

I know there will be a pay off with a looser rear in all conditions but since I am dealing with a front wheel drive I figured this would be a suitable compramise

Any thoughts?

winter tyres should only be fitted as a set of 4,fitting 1pair will cause over or under stear. not recommended.
