I wasn’t surprised to hear that Britain's crumbling roads are costing the country £20 billion every year. Motorists pay £46 billion a year in taxes but just a sixth of that is spent on roads - and a mere £2.7 billion on road maintenance.

As a result, no win no fee lawyers are calling upon the Government to ease congestion by adopting a few relatively low cost measures such as repairing potholes – especially as the top 10 worst A-roads are mostly commuter roads.

You don't need a dodgy lawyer to help make a profit out of your loss.
Just report the pot-hole to the highway authority, take a picture, get a repair estimate, write to them and threaten to sue.
£51m was paid out last year.
