Road Rage seems to have quietened down recently. At one time there was more in the press about Road Rage than stabbings....although that guy on the M25 managed to combine the two. Is there less road rage because drivers are trying to safe fuel so are slowing down?Or was in just a trend in the 80s and 90s. Seen any serious RR recently?

To be honest I think there's still loads of road rage around. Just that the papers have juicier stuff to write about at the moment - credit crisis, murders, etc.

Just today I was tailgated through Leyton town centre by a guy who kept gesturing at me and pointing at his watch (I could see him in the rear-view mirror). Eventually when we stopped at traffic lights I asked him what the problem was. Said he was in a hurry and I was going too slow. Guess he didn't notice the queue of cars and buses ahead of me and that I hadn't worked out a way to magic myself through them!

People like that leave themselves open to retaliation. Isn't everyone just trying to get somewhere? And as far as I've figured out I can't go faster than the car in front of me!!

I've experience similar idiocy myself from drivers who can't see passed the car in front. What chance have we got with idiots like that on the roads.

Some years ago in a country lane, all cars ground to a halt and the car on the opposite side of the road demanded that I reverse. "OK Mate, but to where? There are 12 cars behind me." "Oh!" he exclaimed in acknowledgment. He obviously hadn't looked, despite the fact that it was blatently obvious to all. I fear that the rage he was feeling was somehow causing a temporary blindness to great metal objects on the road. Epidemic I see.

*good grief*
