Subject: Ford Focus C-Max Child Lock problem
Posted At: 06/07/2009 20:48:45
Hi, please help! we have a ford focus c-max, the back passenger door handle suddenly stopped working (think the kids were hanging off it) it would still open from the inside it was only the outside it woudn't work, on speaking to some in the know people they tested it and did not think it was a central locking issue but a broken handle....in the meantime i rather stupidly was fiddling with it and put the child lock on (few choice words from my husband) now it won't open from the inside or outside, a friend looked got the panel off but couldn't get any further without damaging the door, has anyone got any ideas on how to effectively break in and take the bloomin child lock off without opening the door! or any other idea on how to bypass the child lock system? i'd would appreciate any help on this one! Pleaseeeeeeee x

It sounds like the linkage has come off from the outside handle, while the child locks can't be released without the door open.
If removing the internal trim panel from the door hasn't given access to fix the linkage or operate the external handle then unfortunately we can suggest nothing other than taking the car to a dealer. |
