VW Golf TDI automatically locking itselfAnyone know how to stop my Golf locking itself, after about 1 minute??

Anyone had this problem, I;m sure there's a logical way to sort it - but my MKIV golf TDI just keeps locking itself and anyone inside it after about 1 minute, the way to stop it I've found is to leave the door ajar, as I was loading shopping the other day and each time I took another bag out of the boot and returned, it had locked itself again - there must be a timing thing set somehow on it but I don;t know how to adjust it. I can see why it would be a good idea to stop forgetfulness - but it's even doing it whilst the keys are in the ignition and the engine's running - any help anyone?
If ever I forget and leave the car running whilst I'm outside it, maybe talking to someone - I'm knackered Any thoughts anyone? |

Its your anti-hijack setting, possibly needs to be reset by manufacturer

Hi I have the same problem with my 02 plate golf gt tdi, whenever the key is not-in the turned on position, the car will lock it automatically, only if the all doors are closed. This is a pain if you leave the key in the ignition with the engine off and forget your key, after about 40 seconds it self locks, and you’re locked out!
Although it does not lock itsel when the engine is running. Can anyone please help me on this matter to resolve this. I did read the forum about the anti hijack setting reset, Alfa73 can you tell me if this worked for your golf, or does anyone one else have any other thought / ideas. Many thanks for your time. |
