Well the car I drive at the moment is a y reg ford focus estate 1.8 tddi ,the engine is brilliant, I bought it as a stop gap as someone smashed into my mondeo estate and i needed a car as soon as possible ,but ive had it for 2 years now and all Ive done is replaced break discs and pads ,and recently a wishbone ,the fuel economy is brilliant ,im still looking for a big car but cant find a decent one.I only ever pay between 3 and 4 grand on a car as its not worth spending a fortune on them in this game.

I had a mondeo estate before my focus ,it was a y reg 2 litre tddi which is far better than the tdci engines as these have many problems ie injectors ,the car going into limp mode. Now problems I had with my mondeo was the dual mass flywheel so replaced the whole clutch system, also a common fault is the turbo appears to stop working but there is thin black plastic pipes that go from the top of the engine to the bottom and these fracture very easy so I replaced mine with break pipes they are the same thickness as the palstic ones so just slip into place. Also the hatchback and saloon mondeos have rear subframe bushes that go and have to be replaced but I had no such problems with the estate.
