Fines for Exceeding two Hours

Another new money making parking scam is being used by the Motorway services companies. Using cameras and number plate recognition systems to issues fines if two hours are exceeded.
I always thought the "Maximum 2 Hours" was only used to prevent business users etc leaving vehicles parked there for an excessive time.
I recently found out otherwise when I took a nap on the M40 services at Oxford and received a £60 fine through the post.
Besides being another way of fleecing motorists I think this practice is down right dangerous since it discourages taking proper rest breaks on a long journey.

At least you didn't get clamped, the lowest charge i've seen for that is £80 from wheel clamping company National Clamps. What was the company who fined you? I've not heard much about number plate recognition systems...
