Should people have to re-take driving tests that passed 60-70 yrs ago?
Im thinking yes, highway codes have changed etc and I have seen some shocking and worrying driving from some elderly. Granted there are terrible drivers of all ages but a lot of the time the elderly seem completely oblivious to dangers and the terrible manouvers they have committed. Thoughts? |

Elderly drivers seem to lack confidence in some areas, but be over-confident in others. For instance, many will refuse to drive at above 45mph on a national speed limit road, to the irritation of those behind them, but will happily break the limit in a built up area. In my own experience, I gave a lift to an elderly man, and drove at 55-60mph on roads with a 60mph limit, prompting him to complain that I was driving "very fast"; soon afterwards, he picked up two tickets for passing a camera, the same camera, in fact, at over the 30mph limit.
