Just had a vehicle inspection done on an 07 plate 2 litre diesel Mondeo we are considering buying and one issue picked up is oil seepage from intercooler outlet hose. Is this likely to be a serious problem ? Also corroded brake discs as it has been standing a while. Could this be an MOT issue ?

The oil cooler leak should be sorted out prior to buying, but it's not a big problem.
Brake discs will show surface rust within minutes of parking the car on a damp day, but it's not a problem & they'll polish themselves the first time the brakes are applied - it certainly won't be an MOT issue. I assume this car is just approaching it's third birthday, so it should have an MOT test before you buy it. |
