Does anyone know were I can claim back the petrol I used waiting in line (15min) to pay the Toll
Not only that but my carbon footprint was increased by this waiting.
This toll should be scrapped, if they are desperate for cash charge the foriegn trucks.

The Tolls must be costing the motorist millions more than the actual cash they take on the bridge plus it's not ECO friendly

They've recently increased the price to go over the Dartford crossing from £1 to £1.50. I think this will add significantly to delays as unprepared drivers have to struggle to find the extra coin. This isn't helped by the signage in the area. I drove over the bridge last Friday and the only sign I saw notifying drivers of the price change was <200 yards from the tolls!
The fact you now need at least two coins to throw into the basket at the auto tolls means there is double the chance of a coin being rejected, adding to delays even more.
I believe the tolls are also very dangerous. There are lots of drivers changing lanes to find the shortest line crossing the path of other cars before the tolls, and after the barrier goes up it's a free for all before you get back to the motorway lanes. The potential for accidents is huge.
Traffic delays around Dartford are not going to get better until they remove the tolls. Weren't they supposed to be gone by now anyway???
