AA Zone

In Feb'08 I exchanged my South African DL for a UK one. In the July issue of "The Mechanics Motorcycle" I saw a letter from one of the readers saying that he had exchanged his SA DL for a UK one. On checking he found that the DVLA had omitted to enter his MC category on the new card. On contacting them he was told they had no knowledge of his MC licence details, and he would have to obtain a copy from SA before they could amend his details. This of course is almost impossible without one going over to SA to sort it out.
On reading this I decided to check my new card,only to find to my horror that the same had happened to me. All I had was the car category, the MC had been left off. I wrote to the DVLA but todate have had no reply. I did make a copy of my SA licence, but it's not a certified copy and my old SA card was never returned to me.
I wonder if any other AA members have had a similar experience like this.
