AA Zone

I have a brand new car which has just had cruise control fitted, prior to my purchase, unlike my previous car's cc this one goes faster downhill and only resumes the set speed on the flat!
Going up hills the speed remains relatively steady.

Is this normal these days or is there a problem here?
