AA Zone and AA Zone Classifieds Terms and Conditions
In order to use the AA Zone service you undertake to register using accurate and current information about yourself on the AA Zone section of the AA website at http://zone.theaa.com
Each time you log into AA Zone, you agree to the following terms and conditions. These terms and conditions should be read in conjunction with the AA's Privacy Policy.

Explanatory Terms
- Buyer: means a User that selects and buys goods that are advertised by Sellers on the AA Zone Classifieds part of the Service.
- Username: means a unique sequence of letters and numbers without spaces to identify you to the system. You can also use your email address as an alternative. Your username or email address can be used in conjunction with your chosen Password to provide access to the Service.
- Password: means a personal identification name which, when used in conjunction with the correct Username, will allow you to access the Service. This must be more than six characters in length and contain one number.
- Seller: means a User that advertises goods for sale using the AA Zone Classifieds part of the Service.
- Service: means the on line user facilities provided by the AA that allow you to a) post messages in an internet forum called AA Zone and b) place classified advertisements for the sale of goods, sell goods or buy goods using the facility called AA Zone Classifieds.
- We or Us: means the Automobile Association Limited the provider of the Service, also referred to as the “AA” or any other relevant companies within the AA group of companies.
- User or You or Your: means you; the person that uses the Service including Sellers and Buyers.
The Service
The Service is provided by us free of charge for anyone who has properly registered with us online.
By using the Service or the Site, you agree to and to abide by all of the terms and conditions of this Agreement and the Privacy Policy.
No fee will be charged for the Service: no fee will be required to find and contact other users. The efficiency of this free Service will be enhanced by your willingness to contribute details about yourself as well as about your interests in specific areas of the site upon registration and your willingness to participate in user generated activities and exchange. However, this Service does not give you free access to other users' email addresses as all addresses are kept confidential and mail between users must be routed via our site.
We reserve the right to alter this present non-charging policy. Should this policy be changed, we will tell you about any changes by posting an updated policy on our website and sending you a message to draw your attention to the new policy. You will have the right to discontinue your use of the Service prior to any charges becoming effective. Any change we make applies from the date we post it on our website.
Our Agreement with You
These terms and conditions form the agreement between you and us with respect to your use of the Service. You must agree to abide by all of the terms and conditions contained in this Agreement in order to become or remain an authorised user of the Service.
Your Use of the Service
Your right to use the Service is subject to any limitations, conditions and restrictions established by us from time to time. In our sole discretion we may alter, suspend or discontinue any aspect of the Service at any time. We may also impose limits on certain features and aspects of the Service or restrict your access to parts or all of the Service without notice or liability
You may only use the Service for lawful purposes. In particular you may not use the Service to transmit defamatory, racist, offensive or abusive material or material of an obscene or menacing character, or in breach of copyright or any other intellectual property rights, or in contravention of the Computer Misuse Act 1990.
You agree to keep your personal information in relation to the Service up to date. Personal information means your date of birth, postal address and email address as well as the information you enter about yourself.
The Service is not designed and may not be used for commercial use.
Please read the instructions below (under the heading "Your Conduct and Responsibilities") for further conditions on the use of the Service. You acknowledge that, if you do use the Service in contravention of these terms and conditions, we may terminate your use of the Service without providing you with any prior notice.
AA Zone Classifieds
You understand that AA Zone does not own, advertise, promote, recommend, condone, endorse, criticise or review any of the goods advertised and displayed by Sellers. AA Zone is not a Seller or your agent, agreements to sell and buy goods advertised using AA Zone Classifieds are entirely between Sellers and Buyers.
AA Zone Classifieds is available for the private personal use by people who are aged 18 or over and is not available for commercial or business use or purposes by any means.
Your Use of AA Zone Classifieds
AA Zone provides AA Zone Classifieds in a spirit that encourages users to use it positively, enjoyably, safely and efficiently.
When using AA Zone Classifieds you must not;
(i) abuse, defame, alarm, bother, harass, threaten or breach the rights of privacy of people;
(ii) communicate, use, post, advertise or make available any material, message or goods that are illegal or would constitute contempt of court or would be or would promote or encourage illegal activities or promote discrimination or harm or injury against any individual or group whether based on race, gender, sexual orientation, religion, national origin, physical disability, age or otherwise;
(iii) impersonate other people or mislead other users;
(iv) use it for any illegal or unauthorised purposes; or
(v) knowingly down load, up load or transmit any malicious or harmful code, programs, viruses, worms, Trojan horses, backdoors or other contaminants that may harm, compromise, destroy or affect the AA Zone system including its software or hardware.
Termination of your use of AA Zone Classifieds
In addition to any other rights or remedies to which AA Zone may be entitled AA Zone may immediately remove any advertisement and suspend or cancel and withdraw your use of AA Zone Classifieds if you;
(i) Breach any of these terms and conditions; or
(ii) if AA Zone reasonably considers that your use of AA Zone Classifieds compromises or is inconsistent with the spirit that AA Zone Classifieds is provided; or
(iii) AA Zone reasonably considers that your use of the service may damage the good name and reputation of the AA, AA Zone and the AA group of companies.
If you are a Seller you must:
(a) Act genuinely, clearly, honestly, decently and in accordance with the law;
(b) Pay all relevant costs, fees and taxes;
(c) Place true and accurate information about yourself and the goods that you are selling;
(d) Honour all agreements to sell goods and supply and deliver the goods purchased by Buyers at the price displayed in the quantities ordered in the condition advertised; and
(e) Ensure that you are entitled and able in all legal and practical respects to sell and supply the goods advertised and to use AA Zone Classifieds.
If you are a Buyer you must:
(a) Act genuinely, clearly, honestly, decently and in accordance with the law;
(b) Pay all relevant costs, fees and taxes;
(c) Pay the price agreed with the Seller;
(d) At your discretion make any checks or investigation in respect of the goods advertised or the Seller that you consider are appropriate before proceeding with any purchase transaction; and
(e) Ensure that you are entitled and able in all legal and practical respects to buy and receive the goods advertised and to use AA Zone Classifieds.
Sellers and Buyers must:
(a) Act in good faith and behave in an efficient, co operative and courteous manner;
(b) Agree between themselves the terms of sale and supply of the goods advertised including price, costs, payment and delivery;
(c) Do all acts and things and provide and execute any document which is necessary or desirable to give effect to agreements between Seller and Buyer to sell and buy goods.
Liability and warranty
AA Zone Classifieds is provided free of charge “As Is” “As Available” and with all faults. It is your responsibility to consider whether it is suitable for your needs and purposes. Any use by you of AA Zone Classifieds is at your risk. If you consider that AA Zone Classifieds is not suitable for your needs and purposes or you are dissatisfied with the service, you agree that you should not use the service or immediately cease using the service.
So far as the law allows AA Zone does not provide any warranty and makes no representation in respect of the use and access to AA Zone Classifieds including its content, performance, accuracy, quality or fitness for purpose or any other warranty.
So far as applicable law allows AA Zone hereby excludes all liability including damages whether direct, indirect, special, incidental, or consequential losses such as loss of profit, loss of data, loss of revenue, loss of savings, loss of business, loss of opportunity and loss of goodwill.
In no event shall AA Zone’s liability to you in respect of your use of AA Zone Classifieds however arising exceed £ 50.00.
Nothing shall limit or exclude AA Zone’s liability for death or personal injury resulting from AA Zone’s negligence or any other liability which may not be limited or excluded by law.
Disputes between Buyer and Seller
In the event of disagreement or dispute between the Buyer and Seller it is your responsibility to address and resolve the disagreement or dispute. AA Zone recommends that Buyer and Seller make every effort to resolve any disputes between themselves. AA Zone may at its discretion advise the parties about how to resolve their dispute if requested to do so by both parties, any advice, information or support provided by AA Zone will not be binding on either party.
In respect of any dispute arising between Buyer and Seller you release and discharge AA Zone and its officers, employees and agents from all actions, claims, rights, demands and damages whatsoever that each of the Buyer and Seller may have against AA Zone, AA Zone Classifieds and any company within the AA group of companies whether arising under contract, tort statute or otherwise.
Unsuitable Goods for sale on AA Zone Classifieds
It is key to your use and enjoyment of AA Zone that the goods that you advertise are appropriate and suitable for advertising and sale on AA Zone. It is the responsibility of the Seller to make sure that the advertising and sale of the goods is lawful and unlikely to cause offence or harm. Buyers that are in any doubt as to the lawfulness or suitability of the good advertised should not purchase them.
Examples of goods that are not suitable for advertising and sale on AA Zone Classifieds include;
(a) Offensive weapons including firearms and ammunition;
(b) Fireworks;
(c) Goods that are specific to personal identity such as ‘ID’ cards;
(d) Computer software;
(e) Drugs, medicines and medical equipment;
(f) Counterfeit goods or goods that can create or assist in the creation of counterfeit goods;
(g) Animals and endangered species;
(h) Food;
(i) Opened or used cosmetics;
(j) Items to which legal title cannot be transferred such as Aeroplane tickets;
(k) Anything that in AA Zone’s reasonable opinion is objectionable for example materials that are indecent, offensive, pornographic or sexually explicit;
(l) Adverts for home workers or any form of recruitment;
(m) Holiday homes or property to let or sell;
(n) Items that would breach, misappropriate or infringe intellectual property such as copyrights, trademarks, rights of privacy, trade secrets, patents or other proprietary or legal rights;
(o) Pyramid or organised selling schemes; and
(p) Any other items that AA Zone reasonably considers to adversely affect users’ enjoyment of AA Zone Classifieds or is inconsistent with the spirit of the AA Zone.
Reporting adverts
AA Zone and the AA Zone Classifieds make every effort to keep AA Zone Classifieds working properly and the community safe. AA Zone takes reasonable measures to monitor advertisements but due to the volume of advertisements and the rate of use of AA Zone Classifieds by its users AA Zone cannot guarantee the quality of its content. AA Zone would welcome your advice and reports about problems, offensive content and policy breaches, to do this please use the ‘Contact Us’ reporting system.
Security of the Service
In consideration of your use of the Site, you agree to maintain the security of your log-in details and be fully responsible for all use of your account and for any actions that take place using your account.
Service Availability
We may have to suspend the Service at any time without being able to give you prior notice of this. We will do all that we can to restart the Service as soon as possible in such circumstances. While we will endeavour to minimise the inconvenience caused to you, we cannot be responsible for any financial loss that you may suffer as a result.
Terminating the Service
We may, in our sole discretion, terminate or suspend your access to all or part of the Service at any time, with or without notice, for any reason, including, without limitation, breach of this Agreement. Without limiting the generality of the foregoing, any fraudulent, abusive, or otherwise illegal activity, or that may otherwise affect the enjoyment of the Service or the Internet by others may be grounds for termination of your access to all or part of the Service at our sole discretion, and you may be referred to appropriate law enforcement agencies. Once registered, subject to the above, you may use the Service for as long as you wish.
Limitation of our Liability, Warranties and Indemnity
We accept no liability in contract, tort or otherwise including but not limited to negligence for inability to gain access to the Service as a result of routine or emergency maintenance on the system or excessive demand for the Service. You acknowledge that we are not responsible for suspension of the Service, regardless of the cause of the interruption or suspension. We may discontinue or change the Service or its availability to you at any time, and you may stop using the Service at any time.
We do not warrant that this Service will be uninterrupted or error-free. There may be delays, omissions, and interruptions in the availability of the Service. Where permitted by law, you acknowledge that the Service is provided without any warranties of any kind either express or implied, including but not limited to the implied warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose. You acknowledge that use of the Service is at your own risk. We do not represent or endorse the accuracy or reliability of any member profile, advice, opinion, statement or other information displayed, uploaded or distributed through the Service by us, our partners (if any) or any user of the Service or any other person or entity. You acknowledge that any reliance upon any such opinion, member profile, advice, statement or information shall be at your sole risk.
We do not represent or endorse the accuracy or reliability of any advice, opinion, statement or other information displayed, uploaded or distributed through the Service.
You agree to indemnify us, our officers, directors, employees and agents, from any loss or damages, including without limitation reasonable legal fees, which we may suffer from your activities on or use of the Service, including without limitation any breach by you of this Agreement or any charges or complaints made by other parties against you. You shall cooperate as fully as reasonably required in the defence of any claim. We reserve the right to assume the exclusive defence and control of any matter otherwise subject to indemnification by you provided, however, that you shall remain liable for any such claim.
Changes We May Make to this Agreement
We may change these terms and conditions at any time by changing or removing existing terms or adding new ones. We will tell you about any changes by posting an updated version of these terms and conditions on our web site and sending you a message to draw your attention to the new policy. Any change we make applies from the date we post it on our web site.
Data Protection
We may use records of your use of the Service to aid with fraud detection.
Certain details and information provided by you will be monitored from time to time and certain data such as messages sent by you will be retained by us for up to 12 months in accordance with the Anti-Terrorism Crime and Security Act and may be disclosed to the police and Law Enforcement Agencies for the purpose of fraud detection, crime prevention and national security.
We may provide you with information by post, telephone, SMS, or email about other products and services which we consider may be of interest to you, unless you contact us or you make use of the regular opportunities that we provide you with to confirm which channels and products you do not wish to use or hear about or unless you tell us you prefer not to receive direct marketing.
You agree for us to put on the site the notes you write about yourself. You understand that any or all users of the site may view this information. We will not publish any direct contact details, except where you specifically confirm that you wish such information to be published.
Your Conduct and Responsibilities - Code of Conduct
Please remember the Service is intended for use by people who value good manners. For everyone's enjoyment it is important to respect others in your choice of words and thoughts. You are solely responsible for the content of the messages and postings you publish.
By using AA Zone, you are agreeing to permit us to republish your comments in whole or in part for as long as there is no breach of privacy.
AA Zone does not actively monitor messages or message board content and is not responsible for any conversations that take place within these areas. While we cannot and do not review every message or posting, and are not responsible for the content of these messages, we reserve the right to delete, move, or edit messages that we determine violate the following guidelines:
You are not allowed to distribute, upload or publish anything that is defamatory, libellous, pornographic, offensive, obscene or abusive, use of expletives, promotes hatred, violence or illegal conduct or that otherwise violates any law or the rights of another.
We do not accept any responsibility for arrangements made or disputes between the parties concerned and cannot act as an intermediary.
You agree not to send or make available any unsolicited or unauthorised advertising, solicitations, promotional materials, "junk mail", "spam", "chain letters", bulk messaging, "pyramid schemes", internet scamming or any other form of solicitation.
You may not register for more than one account or use or attempt to use another's account, service or system without authorisation or create a false identity on the Service or the Site.
Monitoring of Information
We reserve the right to monitor all advertisements, postings and messages to ensure that they conform to the content guidelines, which may be applicable from time to time.
Removal of Information
While we do not and cannot review every message or other material posted or sent by users of the Service, and are not responsible for any content of these messages or materials, we reserve the right, but are not obligated, to delete, move, or edit messages or materials, including without limitation profiles, postings and messages, that we, in our sole discretion, deem to violate the Code of Conduct set out above or any applicable content guidelines, or to be otherwise unacceptable. You shall remain solely responsible for the content of profiles, public postings, messages and other materials you may upload to the service or users of the service.
If you feel abused, have a problem or dispute, or wish to make a complaint, please use the "Contact Us" facility.
If you feel you have been abused in a private message, you should print out and save those messages in case you ever need to refer to them.
If you find offensive material being posted online please contact the AA Zone Hosts.
We will investigate the matter, review all reported messages and, if appropriate, remove them.
The forums and other self-publishing services are offered, "as is". We hereby disclaim any liability for any content appearing in these areas or any technical malfunctions caused by the use of the Service. You understand that we would be unwilling to offer the Service without an effective disclaimer, and that your use of the Service is at your risk and, further, constitutes acceptance of the terms and conditions of this disclaimer.
You use the Service entirely at your own risk and you should remember when using the site that some people may fabricate information about themselves and may not even be who they say they are.
Provision of Direct Contact Details
The Service is set up so your personal contact details are not revealed to any other users who may be contacting you via the website. We advise you not to include personal details in your personal notes or messages you write and we reserve the right to remove any messages that do contain such information, although we will not be obliged to do so.
Governing Law
